Welcome to the Morgan County EMA office. Jody Zorsch, Director. I have been involved in emergency management for over 30 years. I am a Certified Emergency Management-Professional through the Emergency Management Association of Tennessee (EMAT). I have served as President of EMAT in 2010-2011. My office works closely with all emergency services in Morgan County.
To mitigate the effects of various hazards that might impact the county through the four phases of emergency management: Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Recovery.
Morgan County Emergency Management and Homeland Security (EMA) is tasked by the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) to coordinate and carry out a comprehensive plan to assist community efforts to prepare for, respond to, and recover from all types of man-made and natural disasters to establish a recovery system to return the community to a normal status after an event.
The Morgan County Emergency Management & Homeland Security is charged with the overall responsibility of coordinating the county’s preparedness for and response to disasters. Geographically, its authority extends to the entire county as defined by state law TCA 58-2-110.
